Melanie Ampon L.E. is the Founder, Clinical Director & Lead Electrologist of Hearten Electrolysis. Practicing gender-affirming electrolysis since 2020, Melanie founded Hearten in 2022 as the First Trans-Owned and Operated Electrolysis Practice in San Francisco and the Greater Bay Area.

A longtime member of San Francisco’s transgender community, Melanie’s roots include years as a celebrated performer at the iconic AsiaSF and later service as a Commissioner on the San Francisco Human Rights Commission. She brings this lived experience and deep community connection to her work specializing in facial electrolysis, long-term treatment planning, and pre-operative electrolysis for gender-affirming surgery.

Today, Melanie leads Hearten’s treatment standards and provider development while continuing to provide patient care and expand access to skilled, affirming electrolysis.
